SUMMARY:Summer School: Design your own RISC‑V processor
DESCRIPTION:International Summer School on Digital Chip Design \nHave you ever wondered how a computer really works—down to the chip itself? You are invited to an intensive three-day International Summer School on Digital Chip Design\, where you will design and run your own RISC‑V processor in hardware. \nLed by Per Andersson\, PhD\, Senior Advisor at Lund University\, the summer school offers a hands-on introduction to modern digital chip design using open‑source tools and the RISC‑V architecture. \nDuring the course\, participants work step by step from basic principles to a fully functioning processor implemented on an FPGA (field-programmable gate array). Through tutorials\, guided lab sessions\, and teamwork\, you will gain practical insight into how real programs are executed in hardware; no prior experience in chip design required. Basic programming and mathematics skills are recommended. \nThe summer school runs 8–10 June 2026 at Inspira and The Spark\, Medicon Village in Lund\, combining morning lectures with afternoon lab work. The programme also includes networking activities\, a study visit to industry\, and opportunities to connect with fellow participants and experts in the field. \nParticipation is free of charge. All necessary FPGA hardware is provided\, and the only requirement is a modern laptop with a web browser.
