Why Semicon
Sweden was
created
Semicon Sweden was created with the proactive aim of forging a broad alliance encompassing industrial, academic, and research stakeholders to fortify Sweden’s national semiconductor ecosystem. By actively engaging with national authorities and policymakers, our objective is to inform and align Sweden’s strategic role within the broader European and global context. Simultaneously, we are committed to promoting Swedish excellence on the international stage by elevating visibility and establishing Sweden as a preferred partner for collaboration, innovation, and investment.
Our strategic objectives
- Gathering and coordinating activities and resources across the entire semiconductor value chain in Sweden.
- Showcasing Swedish innovations, key competencies, and investments at both national and international levels.
- Developing a national roadmap for specialized and sustainable semiconductor manufacturing within Sweden.
- Fostering international research and development collaboration, with a specific emphasis on European partnerships, including the EU Chips Joint Undertaking (JU). This initiative directly supports the goals of the European Chips Act.
- Building a dynamic and resilient ecosystem that supports long-term competitiveness and drives innovation within the Swedish semiconductor sector.
